The Lexington Barbecue Festival is a free, one-day street festival in historic Uptown Lexington. Organizers say they serve and celebrate only Lexington-style barbecue: pork shoulder with vinegar-and-tomato dip, not a cook-off or a multi-style tasting tour.
Expect crowded Main Street blocks, craft and food vendors, outdoor stages, and a different pace than a normal weekend restaurant crawl. Pair the festival with a quieter plate at a classic Lexington room before or after the crush if you want a calmer taste of the tradition.
