Your information

Privacy policy

This policy explains what NC ’Cue collects when you use nc-que.com, and how that information is used. The site does not require accounts or paid access.

Information we collect

Analytics (PostHog). When analytics is enabled in production, we use PostHog to understand how the site is used. That typically includes page views, referring sites, device/browser basics, and custom engagement events such as map filters, selecting a smoke stop, newsletter signups, and spot suggestions. We configure PostHog with identified person profiles only when someone is identified; the public project API key is visible in the browser by design. We do not intentionally send passwords, emails, or free-text form bodies to analytics.

Newsletter signups (Formspree). If you join the email list, your name (if provided) and email address are sent to Formspree form mnpqowjv so we can contact you about NC barbecue guides and site updates. Consent language appears next to the form.

Spot suggestions (Formspree). If you suggest a restaurant, the details you submit—and your email if you choose to include it—are sent to Formspree form maeylara so we can review the tip. We only use optional emails to follow up about that suggestion.

Cookies and local storage

PostHog may use cookies or similar browser storage to operate analytics when the feature is enabled. We do not run advertising pixels or sell personal information.

How we use information

  • To operate and improve the field guide
  • To send occasional newsletter messages you signed up for
  • To review restaurant suggestions and correct listings
  • To respond to privacy or correction requests you email us

Sharing

Service providers that process data on our behalf today include PostHog (analytics) and Formspree (form delivery). We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention and your choices

Form submissions are kept as long as needed to run the guide and honor requests. To unsubscribe from email, reply to a newsletter message or email [email protected]. To ask that we delete or correct personal information you sent us, use the same address.

Children

The site is a general-audience food and travel guide. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
