Southern Smoke BBQ of NC is Matt and Jessica Register’s downtown Garland room, smoking meat the old-fashioned way over oak wood and serving lunch only two days a week.
House sauces and catering grew out of the same family pit habit; the Warren Street counter opened in 2014 and still rewards travelers who time Sampson County around Thursday or Friday lunch.
